Hike and Mountainbike Route from Corvara to Pedraces

Description: From Corvara (1,568 meters above sea-level) – at the intersection, turn to Kolfuschg – continue approx. 300 m along the Staatsstrasse (government road) towards La Villa. On the right side of the street, you continue on the gravel path along the river until you reach the village of Verda, just before the village of La Villa (1,433 m.) Here you can cross the main street and proceed along the slightly uphill path towards Funtanacia. From Funtanacia, you should proceed along the field trail at the foot of the Gardenaccia Plateau until you reach the village of Plaön. Continue until you come to the Sponata Hut. From the hut, the trail will take you down towards the valley till you reach Lake Sompunt. From there, you pass by the villages of Paracia and Ciaminades until you come to Pedraces. From Pedraces, you continue on to the parish church of San Leonardo by taking the narrow uphill trail along the street. Behind the church, you'll find the start of the Kreuzweg ("Trail of the Cross") to Oies, which is the location of the house (open to the public) in which St. Josef Freinademetz, South Tyrol's first saint, was born. If you continue along the meadow trail at the foot of the Heilig Kreuzkofel, past the farmsteads of Sottrú, Craciorara, and Cianins, you will reach the village of La Villa. From here, you can proceed along the river, back to Corvara.
