Hike to Heilig Kreuz

Drive by car to La Villa and park at the parking lot of the Piz la Ila aerial tram. Hike: From the parking lot, hike down towards the district of Alting. From here, there is a slightly uphill path (trail no. 13) to the villages of Cianins, Craciorara, Pescolderung, and Castalta. Passing by the farmsteads, you will continue through meadows until you reach the edge of the forest. Proceed to the Pasciantadù Meadows, at the foot of the Heilig Kreuzkofel. The forest trail goes to the northeast and will lead you to the Kreuzweg ("Trail of the Cross.") Continue along the Kreuzweg until you reach the Heilig Kreuz Pilgrimage Church and the hostel of the same name. The return trip to La Villa is taken on the same route. If you would like to descend to Pedraces / St. Leonhard should take trail no. 7 or ride the chairlift.
