Alpine hut Punta Trieste

Restaurant in the mountains with an unusual host

The Punta Trieste alpine hut and restaurant lies at an altitude of 2,028 metres above sea level and affords a magnificent panorama of the world of the Dolomites.

The hut is operated by the jack-of-all-trades Willy Costamoling, who is an extreme mountain-climber, a palaeontologist, a skier, and an Alpine rescuer. Costamoling is also one of those "men of Corvara" who became world-renowned after the release of the homonymous movie.

Nevertheless, this cozy Alpine shelter in the Dolomites is primarily a popular resting place for hikers and skiers: You can enjoy typical local dishes with a good glass of wine either on the large terrace or in the Ladin parlour.

Peculiarity: The Punta Trieste, situated right in the middle of the slopes of Palongiá, is one of the most special wine shops in Italy. Of course, you can also attend tastings.
