The somewhat better ski packing list for your holiday in Corvara

The right things to enhance your ride

We think that there’s already more than enough boring articles about what you shouldn’t forget to bring on your ski holiday. And we also think that you already know that high quality ski clothing, a good helmet, your skipass etc. are absolute essentials. That’s why we have compiled a small list of things that you can survive without, but that will make your ski holiday in the Dolomites a whole lot better if you bring them.
The right ski area
In order to ski, you need a slope. We can all agree on that. But aside from that, there’s huge differences. One thing we can guarantee, though: Nothing comes close to skiing in the Dolomites. The Sporthotel Panorama is located in the middle of the biggest ski area in Europe, Dolomiti Superski, which comprises 1,200km of slopes and 460 chairlifts and cable cars. Aside from that, you can start the Sellaronda directly from our hotel. That’s a ski roundtrip consisting of slopes and chairlifts connected to one another which enables you to discover 4 different valleys of the Dolomites on 26km of slopes in just one day.

Sun protection
Even though it’s cold on the mountains in winter, the UV radiation is extremely high. That’s why you should always put on a high level of sun protection on any parts of your body that are exposed! It’s especially important if you lie in the sun for a while after a substantial meal at one of our traditional alpine huts. The Dolomites are ideal for that because of the many hours of sunshine, even in winter! Also aftersun products make sense in winter: This way, your skin relaxes after a day exposed to sun, low temperatures and wind.

Slope map
We’ve already mentioned that at Dolomiti Superski, you are skiing in the largest ski area in Europe. In order for you not to lose track of where you are between all the slopes, chairlifts and huts and to ensure that you are back at Sporthotel Panorama in time for dinner, we advise you to bring a map of the area with you. You can be very traditional, print it beforehand, and put it in your jacket. Or you can choose to do it the modern way and download the Dolomiti Superski app.

Binoculars
In 2009, the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Heritage, which is greatly related to their stunning beauty. The view of the snow-covered peaks, valleys and rocks is therefore a real highlight of your stay at our ski hotel in Italy. With some pocket binoculars, you can enjoy a much clearer and detailed view of your surroundings: Who is the first to spot a wild animal on the rocks? Which mountain is that on the horizon? And who is the first to see the Sporthotel Panorama on the way back?

Everything for the little ones

You want to bring your children to your ski holiday in the Dolomites? With a few tricks, your ski holiday in Italy will be just as pleasurable for the whole family. It’s best if you procure all the clothes and equipment needed beforehand – if not, you can rent (almost) everything in Corvara, though. If you want to try a black slope, you can leave your little ones at the Kinderland in Corvara, where they will be supervised by qualified staff. And to prevent boredom, just insert a ski-free day where you enjoy sledging, hiking or skating – everything is possible at the Sporthotel in Corvara!

The right care when you come home
That’s the best part… Even though every day on the slope eventually comes to an end, at our ski hotel in Italy you are still completely taken care of! In our wellness area, you can relax in luxurious surroundings or treat yourself to one of many wellness packages. Afterwards, we spoil you with all kinds of delicacies and regional wines at our restaurant. And before you fall into one of our cozy beds and dream of the snow, we serve you a delicious drink at the hotel bar.
