Pasciantadú Alpine hut
The first place you can visit with your dog is not far from Corvara in Badia. Take the cablecar La Crusc 1 in Corvara and hike past the Ütia Lé hut towards the Lech Dlá Lé lake. After just under half an hour, you’ll reach the Pasciantadú hut, where it’s always worth taking a break! You can then descend to Badia. The entire hike is on a slight descent (-509 meters difference in altitude) and is therefore ideal for beginners.

Pisciadú Waterfalls

A very easy and short hike for you and your dog, which you can do in both summer and winter. With an average fitness level, you will be able to reach the Pisciadú waterfalls from Corvara in Badia via Colfosco in around an hour. Both people and dogs will enjoy the green meadows in the summer, the glistening snowy landscapes in the winter, and breathtaking views of the waterfalls and the surrounding peaks at any time of the year.

Hike from Corvara to Col Alt

The hike of approximately 10 kilometres with very little changes in altitude from Corvara in Badia to the Col Alt is just right for trekking with your dog. Take the Col Alt cablecar and hike to the Piz Arlara hut, Bioch hut and Pralongiá hut. The descent to Corvara in Badia takes you directly past Sporthotel Panorama, but not before crossing the La Marmotta and Capanna Nera huts. As well as plenty of opportunities to catch your breath and take a break, a fantastic view of the Val Badia Dolomites, the Marmolada glacier, and the Austrian Alps awaits you here.

Pralongiá - Bioch – Arlara Plateau

On your walking holiday with your dog in Italy, you can easily get up to over 2000m! The hike on the Pralongiá, to the Bioch hut and across the Arlara plateau is considered one of the most beautiful panoramic hikes in South Tyrol – and it starts at the mountain station of the Pralongiá chairlift, just a few meters from Sporthotel Panorama. On the way back, you can easily get back to the Sporthotel even if you aren’t very fit. Wide paths and beautiful meadows are just the thing for leisurely hikers and anyone trekking on four paws.

Into the Edelweiss Valley above Colfosco

Our final tip for trekking with dogs in the Dolomites is the short hike of around one and a half hours into the Edelweiss Valley, which runs north near Colfosco. The ascent can be made on foot or by mountain railway. Here, you will not only be amazed by the beautiful nature, but also by the culinary delights that are offered on the mountain. One of the best-known huts is the Edelweiss Hütte, where you certainly won’t leave hungry!

General tips for trekking with dogs

To ensure that you and your furry friend have a carefree day on the mountain, it is important to follow a few guidelines: always keep your dog on a leash and stay away from free-roaming cows.
